If you are having problems with your computer then the first thing to try is to turn everything off and back on again.  Follow these steps:

1.  If you can, save any work you haven't saved already.
2. Turn off your computer.  If it has locked up completely then holding in the power button for a few seconds usually forces it to turn off.
3.  Turn off any peripherals such as printers, external hard drives etc.
4.  Turn off your router.
5.  Wait a few seconds then turn the router back on - it may take a minute or two before it has fully re-established a connection to the internet.
6.  Once the router has connected to the internet turn the computer back on.
7.  Finally turn on the peripherals you turned off in step 3.
